Climactic - The Crucible Beckons

Climactic returns with their long-awaited second full-length album, The Crucible Beckons, out now through Cardinal Sun Records.

This record sees the return of guitarists Kyle Skogquist and Timothy Solomon alongside vocalist Eric Keyes, while introducing Daniel John Koppy on drums. His performance brought a new level of intensity and rhythmic power to these songs, helping shape what we believe is our strongest material to date. We also welcome back our original bass player, Andrew Oltmanns for our live shows.

Musically, The Crucible Beckons blends death metal, black metal, metalcore, and thrash into something that aims to hit just as hard emotionally as it does physically.

A lot has changed since our first record. Every member of this band has been tested by life in one way or another over the past decade. Those experiences found their way into these songs, which ultimately became less about anger and more about resilience, responsibility, and finding meaning through adversity.

The stunning cover artwork, created by acclaimed tattoo artist Jhon Acevedo, depicts a Herculean figure carrying a crucible filled with liquid golden light, pouring it into the valley below. It serves as a visual reminder that each of us has the ability to bring light into the lives of others—or surrender to bitterness and despair. The Crucible Beckons is an invitation to choose the harder path: one of growth, purpose, and service.
